Our weekly chess programs are designed to create not only a fun environment but a learning environment as well: they combine engaging classroom lessons with time to play chess with peers.

In partnership with One School of the Arts (OSOTA), the Orlando Chess Academy offers a dynamic, 4-level chess program (Beginner, Level Up I & II, and Advanced) that is open to both OSOTA and community students in grades K-12.

This program is held throughout the school year on Tuesdays from 4:00-5:15pm at One School of the Arts (1675 Dixon Rd, Longwood, FL 32779) and is capped at a maximum of 52 students total.

level up I & II (intermediate level)

Prerequisites: Must know the basic rules of chess

The Level Up chess program is for kids who want to take their chess game to the next level. It's perfect for players who are wanting structured challenges, feedback from a coach, and just overall better game play.

Level Up I (Beginner-Intermediate): Level Up I players will focus on learning and applying fundamental tactical patterns and basic opening principles to their games.

Level Up II (Intermediate/Competitive): There will be higher-level instruction at this level in order to prepare students for the Advanced level. Level Up II players will focus on furthering their tactical vision.

Students can be promoted to the Advanced level at any time based on the recommendations of our classroom coaches.
