OSOTA/OCA Chess Club program - Fall 2018

One School of the Arts

Our weekly chess programs are designed to create not only a fun environment but a learning environment as well: they combine engaging classroom lessons with time to play chess with peers.

In partnership with One School of the Arts (OSOTA), the Orlando Chess Academy offers a dynamic, two-level chess program (Intermediate and Advanced) that is open to both OSOTA and community students in grades K-12. This program is capped at a maximum of 52 players total.

For a recreational chess club option, check out the OSOTA Club Chess! program (open to both OSOTA and community students of all skill levels): http://www.oneschool.net/chess-club/tuesday-winter.

Level Up players will focus on learning and applying tactical patterns and basic opening principles to their games. They will also play chess with peers in a structured environment (aside from learning, playing time is a crucial aspect of improvement in chess).

This program is suitable for Intermediate-Advanced players, however, students can be promoted to our Competitive class at any time based on the recommendations of our coaches.
